RCA assesses a learner's ability to read, comprehend and extract / construct meaning from a text / print. It measures the reading skills of a learner. It helps a teacher to identify and analyze learners’ errors and mistakes and give suggestions for improvement.
A large repository of unseen passages for Classes I and II has been identified and built. These are procured from various sources: newspapers, journals, magazines, books etc. Unseen texts and passages, related questions, words-antonyms-synonyms, rubrics and assessment sheets are developed for easy implementation of RCA in classrooms. The reading passages and assessments will be customized for large scale education systems.
